By FML [as originally published on fmlmag.com]
The late afternoon light settles softly over the Hollywood Hills as we sit with Corrie Yee, the Los Angeles horizon stretching out behind her as conversation turns to fashion, wellness, and the routines that shape her world.
Based in Los Angeles, Corrie’s work moves between high fashion imagery and a lifestyle shaped by routine and awareness. Fitness and wellness are woven naturally into her life, not as an aesthetic, but as a foundation that informs how she shows up both on camera and off. On the other hand, fashion remains central to her creative world, yet it is never disconnected from the person behind the image. Corrie’s visual language favors clarity and restraint, with controlled energy and clean lines that allow each moment to breathe.
FML: How did your journey into modeling and influencing begin, and what initially drew you into fashion and lifestyle work?
CY: I began modeling as a teenager, inspired early on by watching Victoria’s Secret models walk the runway. Their presence felt magical, and from a young age I knew that world was where I belonged. I’ve always been drawn to fashion and creativity. I was an art major in school, and painting remains one of my favorite hobbies. Modeling became a natural extension of my creative expression.
FML: You have been featured in several major international publications. What have those experiences taught you about yourself as a creative?
CY: Those experiences taught me that ambition paired with belief can take you anywhere. I’m a small-town girl who moved to Los Angeles without knowing many people, yet I pursued my dreams relentlessly. Being featured on the covers of international magazines reaffirmed that drive, discipline, and the support of family and friends make even the biggest goals attainable.
FML: How do you define your personal aesthetic, and how has it evolved over time?
CY: My aesthetic blends fashion, fitness, and femininity. Over time, it has evolved from trend-driven to more refined and timeless. I’ve also expanded into lifestyle storytelling through Instagram Reels and TikTok, incorporating real-world reactions and social moments that bridge high fashion with authentic, human experiences.
FML: Your work often blends high fashion with a strong visual identity. How intentional is that process for you?
CY: It’s extremely intentional. Every shoot begins with a clear concept, where styling and energy work together to create a cohesive visual narrative. Nothing is accidental. Each element is designed to communicate mood and identity.
FML: How does your background in fine arts continue to influence your approach to modeling and creative direction?
CY: My fine arts background plays a major role in everything I create today. A photoshoot involves many elements, styling, hair, makeup, lighting, and environment. It takes an artistic eye to bring them together in a way that feels unique. I approach every set like a canvas, painting my vision through composition and emotion.
FML: Studying ceramics and painting is uncommon in the modeling world. How do those disciplines shape your visual storytelling today?
CY: Ceramics and painting taught me patience, balance, and intention. Everything must be shaped thoughtfully in order to flow and feel complete. That mindset influences how I pose and collaborate creatively. Nothing is random, and every detail contributes to the final result.
FML: How do you balance the demands of high fashion with a health-focused lifestyle rooted in fitness and wellness?
CY: I see high fashion, fitness, and wellness as fully united. Wellness is the foundation. When I prioritize strength, recovery, and mental clarity, everything else, fashion included, naturally falls into alignment.
FML: In what ways does wellness impact your confidence and presence in front of the camera?
CY: Wellness plays a major role. When I feel fit and healthy, my confidence shows both physically and mentally. It affects not only my presence on camera, but how I carry myself day-to-day. Strength and health directly influence how confident and sensual I feel.
FML: How do you choose which fashion or lifestyle brands align with your values and long-term vision?
CY: I partner with brands that value quality, integrity, and longevity. If something doesn’t align with where I’m going long-term, it’s a no. I’m especially drawn to brands that are glamorous, bold, and body-celebrating, pieces that highlight femininity and confidence.
FML: With a large Instagram following, how do you stay authentic while continuing to grow your platform?
CY: Staying authentic while navigating constantly changing algorithms requires adaptability. I’ve found success by blending the public into the modeling world, shooting high-fashion looks in real-life settings and capturing genuine reactions. These moments add humor and realism to an otherwise unattainable space, and the response has been incredible, with over 100 million combined views.
FML: What has been the biggest lesson you’ve learned from building a large digital audience?
CY: The biggest lesson has been knowing your niche and truly enjoying it. I love blending fashion and comedy, and once I learned how to make that content go viral and monetize across platforms, it became something I could consistently build on. When you enjoy the process, growth feels natural and sustainable.
FML: You approach your career with an entrepreneurial mindset. How do you view yourself as both a creator and a business?
CY: I see myself as both the creative force and the business behind the brand. Being my own boss means balancing artistry with leadership, thinking like a CEO while staying creatively inspired. It requires discipline, structure, and accountability.
FML: What long-term goals are you currently focused on within fashion, wellness, and entrepreneurship?
CY: In fashion, I aim to continue growing my audience while securing larger, more meaningful partnerships with globally recognized brands. In wellness, my goal is to move into ownership, hosting retreats, launching products, and building my own wellness brand. Long-term, I want to create successful businesses that I own, while still collaborating in ways that feel intentional and aligned.
FML: How do you continue evolving creatively in an industry that is constantly changing?
CY: I stay curious and open to experimentation. I closely follow shifts in music, social behavior, and content trends, and I’m not afraid to try things that feel uncomfortable or unconventional. Taking creative risks has been key to standing out and often leads to the most impactful moments.
FML: Finally, do you have a message you’d like to share with FML Magazine readers?
CY: Trust your timing, stay disciplined, and don’t rush your evolution. When ambition and authenticity align, what you’re building becomes not only powerful, but sustainable.
